Drive DevSecOps Adoption & AI-Enabled Engineering
-
12 Month Day Rate Contract

Flexible, hybrid-work environment
About the role
Our client is a leading organisation looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer/Consultant who can do more than build pipelines, someone who can get people to use them, see the value in them, and help the business stay ahead of the curve with AI-driven DevSecOps practices.
The platform and pipelines are largely built. Now they need someone who can act as an internal consultant including coaching squads, influencing stakeholders, driving adoption, and embedding AI and automation to continuously uplift how DevSecOps is practised across the organisation.
As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer/Consultant, you will:
-
Act as a trusted internal consultant across engineering, security and business stakeholders, championing DevSecOps practices and translating technical value into business outcomes
-
Coach and enable delivery squads to adopt DevSecOps tooling, Azure practices and application security processes, changing behaviour, not just delivering capability
-
Lead hands-on work across CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, jumping into unfamiliar technologies and stacks with confidence and adapting quickly
-
Embed AI and agentic workflows into DevSecOps processes. Using AI to improve pipeline intelligence, automate security triage, assist with remediation guidance and enhance developer experience (not just building pipelines for AI teams)
-
Drive real-world application security adoption within delivery teams, owning the onboarding, integration and ongoing improvement of AppSec tooling and practices
-
Partner with platform, engineering and security teams to align DevSecOps approaches with delivery goals, risk requirements and organisational priorities
-
Continuously explore and pilot new tools, AI capabilities and automation opportunities to keep the DevSecOps practice forward-thinking and relevant
Must Have:
-
Strong hands-on Azure DevOps experience , pipeline authoring, CI/CD design, security integration (not just oversight)
-
Solid Azure Cloud experience across relevant services and security tooling
-
Proven ability to drive adoption of DevSecOps and AppSec practices within delivery teams with real stories about changing developer behaviour and influencing resistant stakeholders
-
Practical experience using AI/GenAI to uplift DevOps practices e.g. AI-assisted security triage, agentic PR review, intelligent pipeline automation, LLM-assisted remediation (using AI as a DevOps tool, not building AI infrastructure)
-
Strong software engineering fundamentals (coding, APIs, integrations) with the ability to build pipelines across tech stacks you haven't worked with before
-
Excellent communication and consulting skills, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and coaching junior developers in the same day
Nice to Have:
-
Experience with security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) embedded in pipelines
-
IaC experience (Terraform, Bicep or similar)
-
Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, AKS)
-
Agentic AI experimentation in an SDLC or DevSecOps context
Benefits:
-
Competitive day rate contract
-
Work at the intersection of DevSecOps, AI and organisational change
-
Flexible hybrid work arrangements
-
Genuine opportunity to shape how a major organisation adopts and evolves its DevSecOps practice
