We’re working with an established engineering consultancy with presence across most states in Australia. Over the past 5 years they have expanded sustainably through an increase in project pipeline and are now looking for a talented Electrical Estimator based in either Sydney or Perth to work on exciting projects in solar, wind and BESS.
As Australia continues to ramp up renewable projects on its path to net-zero you will work directly with clients and see the impact of projects from start to finish.
Day-to-Day
Whilst the below are some of the key acAviAes you’ll be working on, the list isn’t exhaustive and will depend on project scope. On a work-split level, there are field-based responsibilities with around 70% being in the office, and 30% on site (week-by-week).

Reviewing electrical drawings, specs and scope of works for solar, wind and BESS projects.

Preparing detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment and subcontracts.

Working closely with design engineers and project managers to develop accurate pricing models.

Visiting sites to understand project conditions, check quantities and validate assumptions.

Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to keep up-to-date financials.

Assisting with tender submissions and client presentations.

Support project planning with time and cost forecasting.
Requirements

Full Australian working rights (unfortunately no sponsorship available)

A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.

Hands on experience in-role, preferably with a consultancy, circa 5+ years.

Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems, ideally across renewables or large infrastructure.

Comfortable interpreting drawings and working alongside design teams.

Ability to visit sites across NSW or WA as needed.

Solid commercial acumen and attention to detail.

Bonus points if you have worked in solar, wind or BESS.
