Business Project Manager
-
Supporting marketing, branding, customer experience and communications initiatives
-
6-month day-rate contract
We’re partnering with a leading financial services organisation undergoing significant growth and transformation across its retail business.
This is not a traditional technology project role. We’re looking for a pragmatic, hands-on Business Project Manager who can work alongside senior leaders to turn strategy into action — bringing structure, momentum and accountability to complex business initiatives.
You’ll operate as an extension of the leadership team, helping shape priorities, coordinate execution and ensure outcomes are delivered.
What this role is really about
Working closely with General Managers and senior stakeholders, you will:
-
Drive delivery of key business initiatives across areas such as customer growth, brand, marketing effectiveness, sales improvement and culture change
-
Facilitate outcome-focused conversations with senior leaders and translate ambiguity into clear plans and next steps
-
Create structure and rhythm — governance, tracking, communications and progress reporting
-
Coordinate across business, change and delivery teams to keep initiatives moving
-
Document processes, decisions and actions to ensure clarity and accountability
-
Bring energy, pace and disciplined follow-through in a complex, matrix environment
This role sits firmly on the business side, with close alignment to technology and agile delivery teams where required — but the focus is on business outcomes, not technical delivery.
What they’re looking for
-
Proven experience delivering business-focused projects in complex, matrix organisations
-
Strong credibility engaging with senior leadership (GM level and above)
-
PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP or equivalent project delivery certification – desirable
-
Experience working in Agile environments (SAFe, Scrum or similar) – beneficial
-
Change management certification (e.g. Prosci) or experience delivering business transformation initiatives highly regarded
-
Experience delivering business initiatives (CX, growth, brand, operating rhythm, culture)
-
Demonstrable evidence of driving outcomes and ROI
-
Ability to bring structure, prioritisation and clear execution plans to ambiguous environments
-
Highly organised, self-sufficient and comfortable wearing multiple hats
-
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, challenge and drive action
-
Experience in financial services or similarly complex environments is beneficial but not essential
-
Most importantly, you’re someone who brings energy, ownership and a results mindset — the kind of person leadership relies on to make things happen.
Why This Role?
-
High visibility and direct engagement with senior leadership
-
Real scope to influence business growth and customer strategy
-
Approved budget, strong executive support and meaningful initiatives already underway
-
A role focused on impact and outcomes, not administration
