This newly created role will form a vital member of the product engineering leadership team, reporting into the CTO and spearheading the newly created design practice.  You will be responsible for setting up the function, including strategy, vision, structure and frameworks.  You will be the evangelist for the product centric approach, bringing the whole business on the journey.

business product owners across a wide array of products. The Product Owner will translate business
objectives and user needs into a prioritized backlog of features and user stories, utilizing extensive
knowledge of project management methodologies, with a strong emphasis on Agile principles.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Define and drive the UX strategy aligned with our product vision and business goals.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary UX team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence.

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless and cohesive user experience across all platforms.

Design & Innovation:

  • Oversee the end-to-end design process, from user research and conceptualization to prototyping and final implementation.

  • Advocate for and implement user-centered design principles, ensuring that user insights drive decision-making at every stage.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously elevate the quality of our products.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex ideas into simple, intuitive designs that meet both user and business needs.

  • Communicate UX strategies and design decisions effectively to stakeholders, including executive leadership.

  • Build strong partnerships with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution.

Metrics & Optimisation:

  • Define key UX metrics to track the effectiveness of design solutions and identify areas for improvement.

  • Continuously analyze user feedback, data, and analytics to inform design iterations and enhancements.

Requirements:

This role will suit someone who wants to take ownership of the UX function of an organisation and who is excited by the opportunity to have their voice heard as part of the leadership team driving product engineering.  To be successful you will have set up a new function previously, or rebuilt an existing one.  You will have been on the transformation & modernisation journey before, and will know how to navigate the challenges and pitfalls that inevitably come around.  You will come from a technology product engineering background and have worked at the ‘Head of’ or equivalent level prior.
