About this role:

Are you an experienced data testing professional ready to shape best practices in a complex, enterprise environment? This is your opportunity to be the first permanent hire in a growing Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Data Testing, bringing consistency, efficiency, and automation across multiple squads.

 

As the Data QA Lead, you’ll define and drive data testing strategies, working across data warehousing, data lakes, and digital data products (e.g., mobile apps, GenAI/ML etc). You’ll champion best practices, establish governance frameworks, and bring in automation in a currently largely manual testing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Data Testing Strategy: Define and implement best practices for data testing, validation, and quality assurance across multiple squads.

  • Test Execution & Oversight: Manage test cycles, design robust test cases, and oversee execution, ensuring alignment with business, technical, and regulatory standards.

  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to streamline validation processes and transition towards test automation.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with BAs, engineers, testers, and end-users to develop test cases, support UAT, and drive a quality-first culture.

  • Automation & DevOps Integration: Advocate for best practices in automated data testing, ensuring seamless CI/CD and deployment processes.

  • Governance & Leadership: Establish a weekly Testing Forum to align standards across multiple projects and educate teams on best practices.

Requirements:

  •  Proven experience in data product testing, data assurance, and quality management within large, complex enterprise environments.

  • Strong knowledge of data platforms and pipelines, including data warehousing, data lakes, and ingestion patterns.

  • Technical expertise in SQL, Power BI, Python, Spark, Databricks, and exposure to DevOps tools for deployment.  Azure experience is a plus. 

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to challenge current practices and introduce nuanced, next-level testing strategies.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, with experience collaborating across engineering, business analysis, and user teams.
